Annotation
Jan Patocka's Archive organizes an international philosophical conference focused on the phenomenological account of subjectivity and its function in the structure of the appearing.
The primary aim of the conference is to explore the nature of subjectivity as such and more specifically the contribution of phenomenology as a first-person methodology investigating the subjective dimension of human experience.
The second aim is to re-assess critically the enduring relevance of Husserlian approach to subjectivity, with regard to Heidegger's, Merleau-Ponty's and Patocka's criticism of Husserl's cartesianism and subjectivism.
Finally, we would like to provide space for an assessment of Patocka's project of the asubjective phenomenology and the question to what extent the field of appearance is in itself subjective or asubjective.
