The project will implement one outgoing mobility placement for a researcher focusing on John Amos Comenius (1592–1670), Bishop of the Unity of the Brethren, from the perspective of his insufficiently explored political thought. This research perspective contrasts with the dominant image of Comenius as a religious reformer and educator. Drawing on neglected sources and interdisciplinary methods, the project will emphasise the political relevance of Comenius’s philosophy, theology and scientific endeavours.
