In her project, Kateřina Kutarňová will focus on epistemology and the theory of species in 16th- and 17th-century Baroque scholasticism, with particular attention to the new concept of species spiritualis in the works of Baroque Carmelites. The aim is to determine whether this represents an original concept or a development of earlier theories. The project will analyze primary texts using modern hermeneutic methods and will contribute to expanding our understanding of Baroque epistemological debates and mystical knowledge. The findings will be published in international peer-reviewed journals.
