The conference will be streamed online. Free registration is open to a limited number of participants. To register, please send an email to pmpos@flu.cas.cz. Please state “registration” in the subject and include your full affiliation (department and university, research institution, company, clinic, hospital, …) in the body of the email. You will receive instructions regarding how to participate before October 25.

CFP
The international conference “Conceptual and Methodological Aspects of Biomedical Research” aims to address topics in basic biological and biomedical research as well as translational research. This also includes reflections on particular diseases and/or therapies.

We invite submissions from philosophers, biomedical researchers and medical doctors on any topic pertaining to any area of biomedical research (with the exception of bioethics). Possible topics include (but are not limited to):
- Aspects of basic biological/biomedical laboratory research
- Biological mechanisms and pathophysiology
- Microbiology and microbiome
- Conceptual exploration of biological and medical phenomena (e.g., ageing)
- Reflections on particular diseases (e.g., cancer) and/or treatments
- Systems approaches to biology and medicine
- Personalized/precision medicine
- Diagnosis
- Causality
- Evidence and evidence-based medicine
- Epidemiology
- Bias and values
- Health care and science policy
Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be prepared for blind review and submitted via email to pmpos@flu.cas.cz, no later than 31 January 2020. Please include your name and full affiliation in the body of the email, not in the abstract.
