Although
empirical
approach
does
not
typically
come
to
mind
while
thinking
about

methodology,
some
philosophers
and
historians
of

This
methodological
roundtable
aims
at
exploring
ways
of
researching
science
and
scientists
empirically.
The
discussion
will
focus
on
various
qualitative
methods
ranging
from
ethnographic
participant
observation
to
conducting
interviews
used
in
inquiring
into
scientific
environments
and
workplaces
as
well
as
life
of
scientists
and
their
livelihood
strategies.
It
will
also
discuss
issues
of
research
ethics,
access
to
the
field,
and
other
relevant
concerns
integral
to

of
science.
