Beasts and propositions: noun-clause reference and intentional states

Abstrakt

My presentation defends the possibility of intentional states in non-human animals. It rejects the ‚concept thesis' according to which intentional states require concept possession by criticizing the idea that the content-clauses complementing intentional verbs refer to bona fide entities, ‚contents', which would have to be conceptually structured.
