Reliving and Democracy

Abstract
The term reliving has two important meanings. On the one hand, it denotes repeating, experiencing again and again a past experience that does not even seem to move, replaying a past scene as if it was a real present. On the other hand, reliving means a rebirth, a revival, recovery as if the past was not what decides, a renewal of sometimes even a utopian opening to the future. How do these two moments define the human condition across individual, collective and political life? How do they determine the possibilities of our presence, across wounds and resources we experience in individual lives as well as in democracy?
