Vědecká periodika

Filosofický časopis is the flagship Czech philosophical periodical, covering the entire spectrum of philosophical issues from the history of philosophy to contemporary philosophical investigations. It is the oldest surviving Czech journal of philosophy, having been issued continuously since 1953 by the Philosophy Institute of the Czech Academy of Science. Since 1990 it has been a peer-reviewed scholarly periodical listed in international citation databases: SCOPUS, ERIH, Web of Science. Filosofický časopis is open to a plurality of philosophical viewpoints, offering original research, translations, news, reviews, and other information. It is dedicated to the full range of philosophical questions, from purely theoretical problems of ontology, epistemology and philosophical logic to more practical problems arising in applied ethics, philosophy of science and political philosophy. Filosofický časopis appears six times annually, with each issue having about 160 pages. Contributions are published in Czech or Slovak, with resumés in two international languages, one of which is always English. In addition to the four standard issues of the journal, each year sees the publication of at least two special issues (supplements). These tend to be in international languages and are to be treated as contributions to international philosophical discussion. In recent years special issues have been most often published in English.

Teorie vědy / Theory of Science is a peer-reviewed academic journal founded in 1969. It focuses on the inquiry into philosophical and methodological principles of scientific knowledge. It traces the interrelationship of science, technology, and society; the problems of the historical development of science and knowledge; and the interdisciplinary relations across and within Humanities, Social, Natural, and Life Sciences. Public relevance of science is also addressed.

International Review of Comenius Studies and Early Modern Intellectual History
An international peer-reviewed scholarly journal for research into the work of Jan Amos Comenius and the intellectual history of early modern era. It follows in the tradition of the journal Archiv pro bádání o životě a díle J. A. Komenského (Archive for Research into the Life and Work of J. A. Comenius), which was founded in 1910. Acta Comeniana publishes original articles as well as archival source material and reviews relating to a broad range of themes, including the history of philosophy, of ideas, of science, of literature, and of religion covering the period from the 16th to the 18th century.

A journal for classical, medieval, and Neo-Latin studies, founded in 1874. Its articles focus on classics, on the traditions of medieval and early modern Europe (linguistics, cultural history, philosophy, and other fields), and on the history of Czech language and literature. The journal Studia Mediaevalia Bohemica focuses on interdisciplinary research on the Middle Ages. It provides space for discussion across different fields and for sharing information about current Central European scholarly literature. It is open to multiple approaches on multiple topics of medieval history, with an emphasis on Central Europe as seen from the vantage point of the various disciplines of medieval studies (history, archaeology, art history, and other auxiliary sciences of history).

Eirene. Studia Graeca et Latina, established in 1960, is scholarly journal of Classics, international and peer-reviewed complying with the criteria of the database ERIH PLUS. The journal welcomes and publishes original research on classics (including Late Antiquity), reception of Antiquity and classical traditions. It is published once a year (one double issue) by the Centre for Classical Studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. Organon F is an international journal of analytic philosophy, founded in 1994. It is international with regard to both its submissions and its readership.

Organon F esteems the standards typical of analytic philosophy, primarily those of conceptual clarity, precision and soundness of argumentation. The journal focuses on contemporary issues in philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, epistemology, metaphysics and philosophical logic. It also provides a platform for topics discussed in ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy, political philosophy and history of philosophy.

Organon F publishes research articles, discussion notes, book reviews and reports written in English. The journal is published quarterly. It appears in February, May, August and November in both the print and the online format.

It is a double-blind peer review, Open Access online academic journal. It is indexed at ERIH+. It is published by the Philosophical Faculty of the Palacký University in Olomouc in cooperation with the Philosophical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It comes out twice a year. At least every fourth issue is international (International Issue) and contains foreign-language articles (mainly in English, but also in German and French). The journal concentrates on ancient philosophy and the subsequent Greek and Latin traditions, i.e., medieval and renaissance philosophy. The basic aim is to publish new and original studies. In order to provide our Czech readers with broad and complex approaches to the study of Greek and Latin philosophical traditions, we occasionally publish Czech translations of Greek or Latin philosophical texts along with commentaries or Czech translations of papers of outstanding contemporary scholars. In International issues (published at least once in two years) the stress is put mainly on new and original studies.

Contradictions aims to assess and creatively revive radical intellectual traditions of Central and Eastern Europe, bringing them to bear on the historical present and bringing them into international discussions of emancipatory social change. We publish scholarly studies, theoretical essays, interviews, reviews, and annotated archival materials that skirt the disciplinary boundaries of political philosophy, social theory, and cultural analysis.
